Habitation Biblioterre: the housing coop.

Habitation Biblioterre - Coopérative de solidarité (HBCS) is a rural housing cooperative, currently in its pre-development phase, to be located in the municipality of La Peche. HBCS aims to create an intentional community of modestly-sized homes for families and single people/couples who want to live in a rural environment, with ample access to the natural environment, community amenity spaces, and opt-in cooperative programs to help reduce cost-of-living for residents.

This initiative aims to bring together residents who are looking to establish land-based livelihoods, and who would like their housing community to be part of a larger ecological purpose that leaves behind an intergenerational legacy. HBCS will support this community development through its partnership and 99-year land lease agreement with the landowner, Coopérative de solidarité Biblioterre, located in Rupert, QC.
