Tempeh workshop
Come learn how to make tempeh! We will be covering food history and origins of tempeh, going through a simple recipe and also discussing potential troubleshooting. No prior knowledge is required, just bring yourself and your curiosity. There will be tempeh spores available to bring home.

Intro to Wildlife Tracking
Back again in 2026, come join us for an introductory class on wildlife tracking! If you’ve wanted to go deeper into understanding how to read the tracks and sign of animals on your walks and hikes, this is the workshop for you. This is a practice that uses all of our senses and animal bodies to tell stories, do community science and build interspecies relationships.
In this workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of tracking through play, exercises, and theory. We will learn about:
movement patterns (gaits)
foot morphology
stretching our awareness and perception
building familiarity with animal families and local ecology
You will be set up with the tools to track on your own as well as a sense of how to learn and deepen in this practice on your own time!
Location: Biblioterre Co-op (169 chemin Parent, Alcove), on unceded Algonquin Anishinaabeg teritory.
Date: March 14th, 10-1pm

Queer & trans stories at the fireside
Join us on the land for a cozy bonfire evening of stories of queer & trans lives of past and present - here and elsewhere. Tales of queer resistance, diaspora, trans history and perseverance. Shake ur Tail Feathers Dance Party
Come and dance with us at Biblioterre (169 Chemin Parent, Alcove) on August 9th from 7pm-12am.
We’ll have live DJs: BunBun, Kelcium and CocoaSly who will be spinning the tunes to shake ur tail feathers as well as a bonfire. There will be weird and fun stuff for sale and a non-alcoholic bar (cash only).
Entry fee: $10-30 cash (pay what you can for BIPOC and trans) *All proceeds will go to Biblioterre and Ottawa trans Library
