FAQs !

  • Can I bring my dog(s)?
Dogs are allowed strictly ON LEASH only and at all times. We would like to protect the wildlife, some of which is nesting in the uncut grass fields around us. Dog people will be asked to sign a waiver.

  • Can I come volunteer?
Yes, absolutely. You can come volunteer for the whole festival, or just for a day. Sign-up here.

  • How accessible is the land?
The garden barn, where most activities are happening, is situated right next to the road. It has uneven terrain and no paved paths. The area for setting up tents will be slightly further away and include uneven, bumpy terrain and narrow paths through grass to access. All events will be held outdoors. In case of rain, several structures will allow for shelter. There will be some KN95 masks on site. We firmly ask that you please wear a mask if in closed spaces/sheltering from rain, if you have no medical reasons counter-indicating this.

There are multiple outdoor bathrooms and an outdoor shower. There is limited drinking water on-site. Campers will require everything they need to feel comfortable and meet their needs eg. tent, sleeping system, cooking system, food and water. If you are lacking let us know and we can help source loaners. Some indoor accommodations instead of camping may be available to people with disabilities.

Heat and bugs are to be expected - we will have shaded and bug-proofed areas available, please come prepared with bug deterrent, sunblock, appropriate clothing, (maybe a personal fan), and plenty of water.

If you are interested in coming and have accessibility needs please get in touch and we will try our best to meet them.

  • Can I go swimming or hiking on the land?
Absolutely. There is a little spot to access the lake that is a 10minute walk over the field. It is very natural (i.e. a short marshy entrypoint, no dock or sand), so we recommend bringing water shoes if you don’t want to get all that sensual with the ecosystem. There are old logging roads and trails that span all over Biblioterre land. You’re invited to wander and wonder!

  • How do I get there without a car?
We will be offering a signal chat group so participants can help each other out with rides. Get in touch with us to be added at biblioterre@proton.me . You can book a public-transit-taxi with transcollines.ca by creating a profile for their transcollines-on-demand service. They leave Les Galéries de Hull (and other places in Gatineau) and can drop you off at the intersection of Chemin Parent / Chemin Usher. That is an approximate 7 minute walk from the co-op. Visit their website to book, and feel free to email us if you have more questions about that!

  • Will there be food and drink?

We aren’t set up with a food truck or any kitchen-style setup. We will be offering some small snacks (Wraps, Sandwiches, Energy Balls) and have a water station, but are not equipped to feed and hydrate everyone all weekend. I.e: Campers, bring your stoves, plenty of water, everything needed for camping. Day visitors, bring (most) of your food and drink. Closest stores are Marché Masham in St-Cécile-de-Masham, the Lascelles General Store and the Wakefield General Store.

  • Are my kiddos welcome here?

Youth and children are part of our community and welcome to attend! Their entry is free. They must be accompanied by an adult. There will be activities on site facilitated by a volunteer with childcare/forest school experience. This does not entirely replace childcare and children's needs are expected to be met by guardians. We ask when registering for camping to include your child's age and interests to facilitate programming individual to our campers :)

  • There is a movement-based workshop happening. What might I need to know about it?

    • It will be guided movement that can be adapted to access needs (i.e., can be done seated, slowly, etc). It includes interactions (verbal and non-verbal) with the group and moments of internal and external sensing. The Work that Reconnects honours our pain, sorrow, and fear for the world - this is not the focus on the workshop, but we will touch into this in a small way.
